Westat project staff did the research to discover what's working in programs that serve the homeless in communities across the country, identified two cities with particularly effective community partnerships to provide homeless services, and documented these programs in the Transformation Through Partnerships DVD.
Homeless program service providers and community partners who might use the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) Partnering learning tools.
Westat is developing a wide range of products for CMHS with a goal to identify and disseminate promising practices for Homeless Programs and Community Support Programs. The purpose of this video is to promote the Transformation Through Partnerships DVD.
The Transformation Through Partnerships DVD is an award-winning documentary that Westat produced to demonstrate how community partnerships can be forged to effectively provide the necessary range of services to the homeless. It provides a short explanation of the partnership model and illustrates two successful, and very different, partnerships in Seattle and Philadelphia.
The video content was developed based on Westat’s Knowledge Application Program (KAP) research. KAP identified effective programs to serve the homeless and developed a model for transferring this knowledge to the workforce in other communities.
A series of videos, manuals, issue briefs, fact sheets, workshops, and e-learning curricula are being developed to support implementation of these effective strategies. The Transformation Through Partnerships DVD is one of these products. The promotional video shown here helps inform the workforce about this available resource.
